Individual state links are shown below next to its state seal. When navigating to those individual states be sure to follow the directions you find on those pages. Some links may take you to a general information page for the state you are looking up and you will have to look on that page and click on that states link to go to their verification page. Others will take you right to the verification page where you can look up coverage. To find another state, just choose the first letter for that state from the alphabet below or go back to our directory main page.

Hawaii: – Hawaii does not yet have a coverage verification service available on their website. We’ve searched for any link that would allow access to this type of service for their site and have been unable to find one. There’s no mention or direction on how to verify a Hawaii employers insurance policy. From time to time we review all these sites and if they offer this service in the future we will update our page and offer access here.
Idaho: – The Idaho link above takes you to the general page of the Idaho Industrial Commission, the regulatory authority in that state. On this main page you’ll find good information about the Idaho workers compensation system with specific links from their page to employer, employee, insurance, medical and crime victim pages. While on this page just look to your right under the topic “I need to…” and at the end you’ll find the link “verify an employers coverage.” That’s where you need to go to verify an Idaho employers workers comp policy. Just fill in the search criteria and you can look up policy information.
Illinois: – Access the Illinois coverage verificatiion service through the link provided above. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be taken to a website page on the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission site. The IWCC provides workers compensation oversite in Illinois. The page you land on has a link where you can search for an Illinois employers insurance coverage. The verification data base used by Illinois will not provide you with any information about employers in self-insurance pools. You must go to the Illinois Division of Insurance to find that information. However employers who are self-insured and have been approved by Illinois for this status are searchable through the verification data base. For help looking up an employer you can contact the IWCC Information Unit at 866-352-3033 or 312-814-6611.
Indiana: – The above link takes you to the general information page of the Indiana Worker’s Compensation Board. While on this page look to the upper right under the Online Services section and you’ll find the link titled “Confirm Employer’s Worker’s Comp Coverage.” Thats where you need to go to verify coverage in Indiana. Accessing that link will take you to a page where you can enter your search information about an employer and look up that employers workers comp coverage.
Iowa: – The above link takes you right to the page where you can verify coverage for an Iowa employer. Iowa, like many states, uses the NCCI national data base to provide you with this information. However Iowa also provides you with a proof of coverage compliance guide that contains information about how NCCI responds to cancellations and reinstatements and the reporting of data along with some specific state contact information about their service. If you need help verifying an employer’s coverage in Iowa you can contact the Division of Workers Compensation at 515-281-5387.
